The workflow of epoxy parts mainly includes material preparation, surface treatment, epoxy resin mixing, coating/impregnation, curing and processing. The following is a specific process description:
Material preparation: Epoxy boards are usually composed of epoxy resin and fiberglass cloth, and need to be cut into appropriate size boards according to design requirements. Use professional tools, such as manual or mechanical cutters, to cut the boards into the required shape and size.
Surface treatment: In order to ensure the quality and appearance of epoxy boards, surface treatment is required. This includes using sandpaper or grinding wheels to smooth the board surface, remove burrs and uneven parts on the surface, and clean the surface with acetone or other organic solvents to remove dust, oil and impurities. Finally, apply a layer of primer on the surface to increase the adhesion and wear resistance of the coating.
Epoxy resin mixing: The mixing of epoxy resin is very important. Epoxy resin needs to be mixed in a certain proportion, and auxiliary agents such as catalysts and curing agents are added as needed. The selection of additives should be based on design requirements and required performance.
Coating/impregnation: The polished epoxy board is placed in a heating chamber to heat its surface to about 100°C, and then coated or impregnated with the epoxy resin mixture. Coating is generally suitable for flat boards, while impregnation is suitable for parts with complex shapes. During coating and impregnation, attention should be paid to uniform coating and sufficient impregnation.
Curing: After coating or impregnation, the epoxy board is placed in a constant temperature box for curing. The curing time and temperature should be determined according to the formula of the epoxy resin and the thickness of the board. After curing, the epoxy board has high strength and hardness.
Processing and molding: After the epoxy board is cured, various tools can be used for cutting, drilling, milling and other molding operations. During processing, appropriate cutting tools should be used, and appropriate cutting parameters and processes should be adopted. In addition, attention should be paid to the dust and waste generated during the processing of epoxy boards, as well as the impact on the environment.
During the work process of epoxy processing parts, operators should follow standard operations and safety precautions and wear appropriate protective equipment1.
