Epoxy rods are made of electrical alkali-free glass fiber cloth impregnated with epoxy resin, baked, and hot-pressed in a molding mold to form a rod with a round cross-section. This material has high mechanical properties, and exhibits excellent chemical corrosion resistance, water resistance, and solubility resistance. It can resist corrosion from proteins, high-multiple foam fire extinguishing agents, and the like. The application of epoxy rods solves the problem of corrosion of metal pipes due to water transmission, burial, and acid, alkali, and salt, and greatly improves the service life of fire protection and water supply (gas) pipelines, which can be used for more than 50 years. At the same time, its comprehensive maintenance cost is only 1/6 of that of ordinary galvanized steel pipes. Epoxy rods can also be divided into two categories, one is epoxy glass fiber rods, which are used in lightning arresters or technical indicators of insulator core rods; the other is epoxy glass cloth laminated rods, which are suitable for use as insulating structural components in motors and electrical equipment, and can be used in humid environments and transformer oil12.
